We had an eventful weekend this weekend.
Since John and I had spent some good quality time together in Hawaii . . and we are now poor because of it =) we decided to spend Valentines Day together as a family. Friday night John came home with roses and Lindt chocolate for me and a Valentines Day balloon for Kendri. She thought that it was the best thing that ever happened to her. She loved it and kept saying over and over "balloon from Daddy!" So sweet! She is such a Daddy's girl!
Saturday night we went out with John's parents for dinner. We chose Red Robin since it is kid friendly and figured it would not be too busy for Valentines day since most parents were getting sitters . . .apparently lots of other people thought the same thing =) We didn't have to wait but it was noisy and filled with a ton of kids!
Sunday we spent the day together as a family. We went out for brunch to our favorite restaurant and then just hung out. It was very relaxing and a good time. On Valentines night Daddy gave Kendri some rose petals to put in her bath .. she thought they were fantastic!
Monday morning John woke up with the stomach flu. Kendri had it for one night last week when she spent the evening throwing up and now it was John's turn. He was absolutely miserable and spent most of the day in bed. Kendri had a really hard time knowing that Daddy was upstairs and not playing with her . . oh the nerve =)
So I decided that she and I would head out to get her first haircut. Her poor beautiful curls had become stringy and knotted as they got longer and basically if it wasn't bath night she looked like she had a rats nest in the back of her head! SO off we went. I took her to a place that specializes in children's haircuts. They were VERY busy, the lady said that it was because it was President's Day and they had been closed due to snow the past two weekends, but Kendri did a great job waiting. They had 3 different train tables, a coloring book station and lots of other toys to keep her occupied. When it was her turn she chose to sit in the fire truck and did very well! She didn't like the spray bottle to wet her hair and had a few tangles that the stylist had to comb through but when she started to fuss they gave her some animal crackers . . and that took care of it! The hair cut turned out very cute and her pretty blond curls are back . . plus she got a lollipop so she was a happy girl.
I hope that you all are seeing the end of the snow where you live. We are trying to think warm thoughts and wishing for spring!
