Corn!

Hey all, Hope that you all are enjoying lots of fun fall activities.
We have been taking advantage of the nice weather and having lots of fall fun! We went with our playgroup to Hanover Vegetable Garden last week and had a blast. Since we had already picked pumpkins we decided to not get any more then we already had but really enjoyed the hayride on the tractor (she insisited on sittin gBY HERSELF)and running around the pumpkin fields. When we got back we checked out the farm animals, fed the goats, and got to pet a horse (a first for Kendri). I quickly found that Kendri was not afraid of ANY of the animals and she would have climbed into the cage with the chickens and turkey had I not stopped her. There were also several kittens running around the property and were very friendly so the kids got a chance to pet them as well.
Kendri's favorite was the CORN! They had a huge "sandbox" area that was filled with it. She thought it was great. She swam, threw, and buried herself and was VERY upset when it was time to move on. That's all she could talk about for the rest of the day. I will post some of my favorite pics.
Her verbal skills are continuing to shock me. She is putting three words together to make sentences. "I got it" when she got the ball and is telling me stories. Apparently at the sitter's today another child pulled her hair . . I can't imagine that my dear sweet child did anything to deserve that =) and at lunch today she retold me the story over and over . . mommy . . Anderson . . pull . . hair . . OUCH!! . . naughty!! She makes me laugh!!!
I am also amazed at her memory. We went to Roanoke this weekend to see my dad and he made these super yummy fried apples that Kendri was obsessed with. Yesterday as we were at the park and she was swinging she was talking to me about it . . Mommy . . papaw .. . sailboat . . oooohhhh (indicating my dad instead of John's) . . . cook . . .apples .. fried . . MMMMMM!!! then she licks her lips! She continues to be a picky eater. That was all I could get her to eat for dinner last night. AND while she was there she didn't want to eat his homemade chicken and dumplings but instead wanted a hot dog! NUTS I KNOW!!!
Her other new obsession is coloring. She keeps out her crayons all the time and wants us to join in on the fun . ."Daddy . . SIT DOWN!!" and then tells us what to draw "sun . . moon . . ELMO!!" she also has discovered Abby Cadabby from Sesame Street. She loves when she sings and will ask for us to turn her on almost as often as Elmo these days.
Looking forward to Halloween! Hope you have a spooky one!!
