Happy Easter!
I hope that this finds you all enjoying some warm spring weather. We seem to have gone straight from Winter to Summer here with temps that have been reaching the high 80s. We have found that Rylin is very much like her sister and would rather be outside then anywhere else.
We had some beautiful weather for Easter this year and were able to do lots of fun Easter activities outside. We started the weekend with egg dying. Kendri thought that it was fantastic and made sure to make an egg for each person in the family complete with their name and their favorite color. She was a total disaster by the time that we were finished and so was the kitchen. Both of her hands were totally blue because she refused to use the egg dipper and just thrust her hands in the dye to get the eggs out each time. Which in turn made all the dye spill over the cups and all over the table.... good times! She had a blast and was disappointed when all the eggs were done so she decided to go back and add Dora stickers to complete her masterpieces. :)
Saturday the weather started out not as warm and sunny as we hoped but we decided to head to Maymont Park for their annual egg hunt and Easter festivities. Kendri jumped in the bouncy house, made a few crafts, and sat for a LONG time at the storyteller before it was time to have our picnic lunch and head to the Egg Hunt. The hunt itself was crazy and basically was a mob scene with parents and kids rushing to get the eggs. Kendri managed to hold her own and got the 10 eggs that she was promised and even found an egg with a golden coin and a certificate for a special prize at the prize tent... she definitely has John's luck rather then mine. He wins drawings for things all the time as well. We made it home just in time for nap when everyone crashed!
Easter Sunday we all managed to get up, check out the things that the Easter bunny brought, get dressed, get fed, and get to church early to find seats. It was a good thing that we did because some people had to sit in the choir loft. That would have been interesting with a baby. Kendri joined us for singing the first few songs and John made sure to find us seats on the aisle so that she could dance and twirl to the music! She LOVES it! Rylin also caught the beat and was rocking and rolling to the music as well. SO cute!!! After church we went to brunch and were able to sit outside on the patio. It was gorgeous and much to the girls delight a few ducks joined us to eat Kendri's crumbs. It was wonderful! Upon arriving home we found that the Easter Bunny had hid eggs in our backyard. Rylin was DONE so she went down for a nap and Kendri headed out for an Egg hunt. Unfortunately the dye started to run off the eggs and all over EVERYTHING so although it was fun, I chased Kendri with a wet wipe to wipe off her hands after she found each egg so she wouldn't ruin her Easter dress..... Yes I was THAT mom ;) That evening we went to John's parents house for Easter Dinner. Mamaw had also hid some eggs at her house so Kendri got to have her third egg hunt of the weekend! It was a Fantastic Family Fun filled weekend!
Hope the Easter Bunny was as good to you all as he was to us!!
