Santa Baby!
4 Generations at Thanksgiving
Helping Mommy cook
Hey all,
Where has the time gone? When I checked to see the last time I posted and realized that it was after Halloween I was shocked. I guess when you are not getting sleep free time only includes naps for Mommy :)
We had a very busy and festive holiday season. For Thanksgiving we made the trek to Indiana with everyone in tow. It was a 12 hour drive, but the girls did well all things considered. They both got sick right before we left and we ended up at a Doctor with Rylin upon arriving. She was diagnosed with RSV and passed it on to me! It was terrible and we both felt like we got hit by a truck. Despite the sickness we enjoyed lots of quality time with my family. It was well worth the trip.
Christmas snuck up on me and was here before I knew it. We decided to stay in Richmond this year since we were with my family for Thanksgiving. I hosted Christmas dinner and needless to say, it is a little different then going home and being taken care of. We ran around like crazy people with church on Christmas Eve and then having all of John's family here for Christmas. Kendri actually understood what was going on this year and had a blast! She was very into Santa and all the things that he brought for her. We ended up with a white Christmas and she and Grandma had a blast making snow angels and playing with her sled.
Since the Holidays we have been keeping busy. Rylin is growing so quickly and is changing daily. She has started rolling over (from her back to her tummy) and then becomes very angry because she gets stuck and hates tummy time. She started solids last week and seems to enjoy oatmeal so far. She is a smiley, laid back baby and is fairly easy going. She has started waking up frequently during the night now that she is more aware of her surroundings and realizes that she would much rather be held and rocked then by herself in her crib...good times!!
Kendri is a spit fire and is having a hard time with the concept that we can't play outside. I wish I had half the energy that she does (then maybe I would be able to keep up with her). She has started to enjoy helping me cook and "clean" and is VERY into Dora the Explorer. She is getting better at entertaining herself and I love to listen to her "read" and use her imagination while she is talking with her "friends" (her Dora figurines, silly bands, and her stuffed animals). We also discovered Skype and she is amazed by talking to friends and family on the computer.
We are looking forward to Kendri's birthday and she has decided she wants a Dora theme. Surprise Surprise :) I can't believe that she is almost 3!!!
Hope you all are enjoying your cozy up with a fire and Starbucks kind of days!
