Feeding the kangaroo
Hey all!
We had a fabulous weekend this weekend. It was the first in a while that we had no plans and got to do whatever we wanted!
On Saturday we went to the Zoo! It was the first time that Kendri had been and she had no idea what to expect. When we asked what animals that she wanted to see, she said that she wanted to see an elephant and a hippo . . ummm . . nope not in Richmond! :) We got a late start (Mommy needs her beauty rest) but had plenty of time to see it all. The weather was gorgeous (almost too hot at about 88) and it wasn't as busy as I had anticipated!
There was lots to do there. We went on a train ride, a carousel ride, and fed lots of different animals (even the ones that weren't meant to be fed .. .. like the kangaroo . . which Kendri easily figured out a way to get leaves to by sticking her fingers through the chain link fence. John loved feeding the giraffes, Kendri loved feeding the birds, and I loved the monkeys with their babies and the orangutan that drank his water out of a water bottle :) I will add some pics!
Sunday we went to church (Kendri did great in the nursery for the first time in a LONG time. Some parents got called out of the service and for once it wasn't us!!! :) and then we tried out the apartment pool in the afternoon .. which turned out to be WAY too cold for anyone except Kendri who was really NOT happy when we left so quickly to return to the apt for a hot shower.
Happy Mother's Day to all you Mommies! I hope that it is relaxing and restful (and maybe even includes the spa ;)
