hey All!
So we made the trip to the lake and I am still sane enough to talk about it. I was really worried about the plane ride due to the fact that the last time we were on a plane Kendri was not mobile and I had John there to help, but she did wonderfully both there and back. Both legs to the lake were so undersold that we had an open seat next to us so Kendri was able to sit and play on the seat next to me and on the way back we were lucky enough to sit right behind first class so we had a LOT of foot room so she could play on the floor. I was also pleasantly surprised about the helpfulness of total strangers. They were willing to help with the stroller, the bags, AND to let me cut in line at the coffee place to buy milk!! I felt very blessed!
We had a blast at the lake as well. It was fantastic to see my family and although the weather was not great most of the time we found ways to occupy ourselves. As the week progressed we had lots of family come and go. My mom and dad and grandpa were there the entire time and then we got to see Great Uncle Goofy, Lisa, Aunt Carol (who taught her to say IU) , Andrea (Ada), Katie and Anthony. Kendri constantly asked to be "outside". She LOVED the sand and water and we had a really hard time keeping her out of it. She also fell in love with the boat and only wanted to go FAST! And she started RUNNING!!
On the very first night there we all made predictions on how many peas and carrots Kendri would eat at dinner. I was doubtful and guessed none. My Grandpa had hope and said she would eat them all . . .and she did. From then on she ate really well. Her new favorite is corn ON THE COB! Who knew? I told my Grandpa that we needed him around all the time =)
Despite the weather we had the chance to do most of the things that I love at the lake. We took a boat ride to Dockside for lunch, had a campfire complete with s'mores, got some time to read in the sun, plus I never had to cook or clean.
I will attach some of my favorite pics!
Hope that you all are enjoying your summer!
