For all of those of you who said that keeping up with this is harder then expected, you were so right! I don't know where nap time goes!
It seems as if everyone is well! Lets hope that we can keep it this way for awhile!
We have been super busy these past few weeks and it looks like it won't be letting up any time soon. We have almost every weekend filled with something to do until Fathers Day but most of it is fun. We are also starting to get the house ready to put on the market. John ordered a "pod" this week, which is now taking up most of the driveway. We are hoping to get a lot of things moved out of here this weekend and then they can take the ugly thing away. I am surprised that the neighborhood president hasn't gone nuts yet.
Since we have been so busy Kendri has gotten the chance to hang out with John's mom. She loves to come over and play and Kendri doesn't mind a bit when mommy and daddy go out without her. I think that taking her to the sitters on the days that I am working has been really good for all involved. She has gotten a chance for socialization and independence and I have been able to remember how to have adult conversations =)
Kendri's favorite toy these days is the phone. Although she rarely says more then hi when the phone is handed to her, she loves to push the buttons to hear the sounds that it makes. In doing so, she called 911 this past weekend. While I was getting ready in the bathroom for a bridal shower that I was hosting and John was getting dressed in the closet, Kendri picked up the phone and was playing with it. This happens quite often and we thought nothing of it. Evidently she dialed 911 and then promptly hung up. The dispatcher quickly called us back to see "what the emergency was" and John told them that there was no emergency and that our 1 year old daughter must have called accidentally. The operator was none to amused and said "do me a favor and don't let your kid play with the phone". Crisis averted, this time at least!
Kendri's new word of the week is "apple". This is the first time that she has used a word that is well articulated and everyone can understand. She has never liked applesauce but just recently found that she likes to chew on apple pieces. I don't know if it feels good on her teething gums or what but she just gnaws on the apple and then spits it out. We have also discovered that she would rather have then entire apple whole rather then us cut it into pieces. I have attached some pics of her in her highchair enjoying her apple. She is a mess.
Since the weather has warmed up we have spent quite a bit of time outside. Keely is Kendri's favorite outside toy but she is waming up to the idea of chasing a ball instead. She also loves bubbles and is now saying "bubble" and "pop" when she touches them . . Very cute!
Mothers day this year was awesome! I woke up to flowers, a card, and a yummy breakfast. John decided that since it has been forever since I have spent any money on myself, he would take me to the outlets and go shopping. I was not allowed to enter any baby stores and although I found it to be really hard, I secretly loved it. We went to dinner at Pierces and ate on the picnic tables outside. Kendri had the chance to run around and play with the other kids that were there while we ate, so we were all happy!
School is out in 3 weeks! Yipee!!!
